A Humble Thank You

I cannot thank you all enough for taking my little survey. Over 100 of you have so graciously let me into your minds to see what you are (or are not) afraid of. I will be closing the survey May 31st at midnight, so if you haven’t had the chance to take it, there is still time! Once the survey is closed, I will compile both an in-depth report with interpretation, as well as a quick overview (for those curious folk who just want to see how they compare to others).

In the meantime, check out this post from The Nerdist — Top 10 Favorite Horror Novels.

Scaring the Scarer

I will be the first to admit that though I am jumpy, many things don’t really scare me any more. I might get creeped out, but usually my sense of intrigue and curiosity soars with horror. However today I was introduced to something that scared the living daylights out of me. I kept having to pause the video. Then when I learned that it was based off a Reddit user’s story, I had to talk myself into reading it. “It’ll be good research for your next project!” “It won’t be as bad as the video!” Boy, oh boy was I wrong. Living in a big city just got more frightening. This is refreshingly uncomfortable feeling.

Check out the video here:

There is something horrifying in the silence I think. Also the juxtaposition of a smile, something that should bring comfort, with the scenario of being stalked by a stranger is uncomfortable. The article that I was lead to that held this lovely story hold some more incredibly creepy and disturbing things– all stemming from the internet.

Sweet dreams,

EAP

P.S. If you haven’t done so, do me a HUGE favor and take my survey. Maybe I can create something scarier than this.
